This grading syllabus is used by The Ronin
School of Karate and is officially recognised.
There must be at least three months training between each belt up to third Kyu.
Then at least 6 months training between each remaining belt up to Shodan (1st
Dan). Therefore 3 years would be the minimum time training before you could grade
for first Dan Black Belt.
You must then be a first Dan for two years before you can take your second Dan.
You must then be a second Dan for three years before you can take your third
Dan. etc.
